What is Feliway?

Feliway is a synthetic version of the natural facial pheromone cats use to mark their environment as safe and familiar. When cats rub their face on furniture, doorways or you — they’re leaving behind these comforting pheromones.

By mimicking this natural signal, Feliway helps create a sense of security in your cat’s environment. It’s designed to calm and reassure cats during stressful situations such as moving house, new pets, visitors, changes in routine, or household tension.

Feliway pioneered an entire category in veterinary care known as pheromonatherapy — using species-specific pheromones to support behavioural wellbeing.

What Can It Help With?

Feliway may assist in reducing stress-related behaviours such as:

• Destructive scratching

• Urine spraying around the home

• Hiding or attempting to escape

• Tension or fighting between cats

• Changes in appetite (reduced or overeating)

• Excessive self-grooming

How It Works

Once plugged in, the diffuser continuously releases calming pheromones into your cat’s environment. These are detected through your cat’s sense of smell and help promote a feeling of familiarity and safety.

Humans can’t smell the pheromones — but your cat absolutely can.

Where to Use It

• Covers an area of up to 70m² (works best in smaller, enclosed rooms).

• Place it in the room where your cat spends most of their time or where unwanted behaviours occur.

• Avoid plugging in under shelves, behind furniture, curtains, doors, in hallways or near litter boxes.

• Larger or multi-storey homes may require multiple diffusers.

Refill & Usage Guide

• Each 48ml vial lasts up to 30 days (typically 3–5 weeks depending on room conditions).

• Refill monthly to maintain a consistent calming effect.

• Simply screw the refill vial into the diffuser unit, plug into a power socket and switch on.

• For best results, plug in 2–3 days before a known stressful event to allow time for the room to fill with pheromones.

• Results may be noticeable within 7 days, but it’s recommended to use for at least one month for full effect.
